My long and versatile experience enables me to build integrated systems that utilize
various technologies and tools – connecting legacy applications to database
and web-applications. Also, experienced in software evaluation, installation and
customization.
EXPERIENCE
For a consulting company, CALIFORNIA USA 10/1989 - Present - Technical Consultant
Responsibilities include: Leading and managing large development projects; Utilize
the System Development Methodology (SDM) in the software engineering process; Apply
CMMi level 5 standards for project life cycle management to ensure end-product quality;
Provide guidance and technical support to other team members; Explore and recommend
new technologies and productivity tools; and Provide technical training.
Accomplishments include:
- Most recently I was the project manager and lead technical consultant for a project
to acquire and implement a workflow management system. K2 Workflow by SourceCode
was selected as the preferred solution. ASP.NET/C# was used for designing and implementing
web-forms. C# was chosen for back-end processes. The database of choice was SQL
server 2000. The completed solution integrated multiple legacy and Web applications
including: Kofax Ascent Capture for scanning; K2 Workflow; ASP.NET web-forms; GEAC
Accounting system on an IBM mainframe; Financial Data warehouse using SQL server
and Ektron document management system.
- Recently were the project manager and technical consultant for a Software evaluation
and integration project. My responsibilities included evaluating check-printing
and document management software packages. After careful consideration the following
solution was selected: Printech CheckPlus CFO for check printing; Kodak i610 scanner;
Ascent Capture for scanned documents recognition; Ektron CMS/DMS for document management.
Designed and developed interfaces between the various components of the selected
solutions using C# and VB.NET.
- Participated in a multi-phase project, in various capacities. I was the project
lead for one of the phases and technical analyst for other phases. The project includes:
Base data; Pricing; Ordering; Warehouse Receipts; Assembly Processes; Sales; Financial
Interfaces; and payment reconciliation with outside vendors – for manufacturing
parts and logistics.
- Also developed an MS Access Application to handle warehouse operations for manufacturing
parts – as a temporary workaround until the full system is deployed. The application
handled warehouse receipts and sales of parts.
- Also led a large integration project between Isuzu and General Motors. The project
included changes to 5 major systems and was staffed with 8 Programmer/Analysts.
The project was very successful. Changes were implemented with close to zero defects
with very high client satisfaction
- Developed a tool to convert host system reports into HTML format and post on the
client’s Intranet site. The tool was utilized for a very critical business
report, “The Executive Summary”. Clients can view multiple versions
of the report from their browser.
- Developed an MS Access system for Warehouse Physical Inventory that reduced warehouse
shutdown times and improved accuracy of inventories. Clients indicated that they
never had a smoother and more productive inventory since inception of company.
- I was also was the manager of the “Financial Systems Business Application
Group”. During that period I was responsible for the support of GEAC Accounting
systems and I oversaw the development of the “Funding System” for an
automotive company. The funding system provided accurate and timely information
about the companies banking activities.
- I also developed and implemented a Management Reporting Data Mart using MS ACCESS.
The system was very well received and is widely utilized by IT management.
- Other applications: Used Truck Sales system; Financial Interface to MSA; Dealer
Ordering System and Fleet Sales.
FOREST LAWN, CALIFORNIA USA 01/1986 – 10/1989
Group Manager Responsible for managing the overall activities of a group of Programmer/analysts.
Duties included: Project Management; Staffing issues; Design, build and deployment
of business applications.
Accomplishments include:
- Major enhancements to the General Ledger system
- Provide on-going maintenance for the Accounts/Receivable, Sales Control and Commission/Payroll
systems

My work experience started in Kuwait after graduating from Kuwait University and
included a year contract in Saudi Arabia.
